Top 5 New Features In Madden NFL 24 Franchise Mode

One of the most popular gaming modes in Madden each year is the franchise mode. This allows users to run their team in the game in a realistic way compared to how the real NFL works. Basically, the gamer gets the opportunity to serve as the team's owner, general manager, head coach, and all players simultaneously. And the same in Madden NFL 24. In addition, EA Sports makes an effort to make changes and improvements to this mode this year. So here are five of the most notable updates to the franchise mode in Madden 24.

Deeper Trade Packages

Making trades is one of the features that make franchise mode so much fun because it allows the user to attempt to build their team the way they prefer it to be. In previous years of franchise mode, the game would allow up to three total pieces per side in a trade, including players and draft picks. This year's version has doubled down, allowing six slots on each side for the first time ever. While there are six trade slots, you will only be able to trade at most three players at a time, along with up to 3 picks, or you can trade five draft picks and one player, but you won't be able to trade 4-6 players in the same trade.

Contract Restructuring

Madden 24 will have a new form of contract restructuring. You'll be able to reduce a player's salary to the league minimum and redistribute it to that player's bonus money across the rest of the contract. Not all players are eligible to have their contracts restructured. A player must have multiple years remaining on their contract and be making more than the league minimum salary. Players on rookie contracts cannot be restructured until they've completed their third season in the league per NFL rules. While it's limited to just one of the ways real NFL teams have at their disposal, it's definitely a welcome addition.

Training Camp

Great news for Madden fans: the classic Training Camp mode has returned to franchise mode! This means that during training camp, you can improve your players' positions on the roster by running drills and playing mini-games specific to their positions. You can earn XP and other team progression items depending on your performance in these mini-games. This fun new mode will also give users their first look at the players they select in the game's NFL Draft.

Weekly Practices

Previous years of franchise mode have also included weekly practices, but Madden 24 will significantly change the feature. Rather than being able to simulate through this portion of the week, users will need to complete their practices manually. This will give players the opportunity to gain experience points and improve overall ratings each week.

Reordering Depth Charts

Formerly, players have spent a decent amount of time setting their depth chart at the beginning of each year to ensure the right people get playing time. Then randomly, in week five, you realize you need to sign an extra wide receiver, and the entire dept chart gets completely rearranged. Madden 24 has finally fixed this annoyance, locking depth chart changes in until the user manually adjusts them.

The highly anticipated Madden 24 will be released on Aug. 18 and available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One X, Xbox Series X, and PC.
