The Interview
Hey Silence Groove, we are so pleased to have you involved with the Different Drumz podcast series! Please could you get us started by telling us a little more info about yourself for those that may not already know about you?
Thank you for your invitation for the podcast series I’m really glad to take part in it! My name’s Kuba, I’m 23 years old. I’m Polish and I live in Slovakia. I’ve been making drum & bass music since 2011.
What inspires you and continues to inspire you in music, in terms of d&b specifically and music as a whole more generally?
I draw my inspiration from many places such as the weathe, a good story, movie, or my beautiful girlfriend. I usually listen to other music genres than drum & bass to grab some inspiration from. It happens very often that I’m inspired just by a good tune.
Which tune switched you on to drum & bass in the first place?
It was actually 4 tunes I remember. Such tracks like:

Ill Logic & Raf – Turnaround
Electrosoul System – One
Unknown Error – Struggle
As we know you are originally from Poland, what is the drum and bass scene like out there and what do you see for its future?
It’s doing quite well I guess, although I did not have a large role in the scene. I hope to see it grow bigger one day!
What software/hardware do you use to produce your music & do you have any favourite VST’s or programs?
I use Image-Line FL Studio. I love Fabfilter Pro-Q 2, SSL Duende Native and Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2. My hardware is my Desktop PC, Rokits 5’s G2 and headphones Sennheiser HD555.
Please could you name your top 3 producers that you would like to work with that you have not had a chance to work with already and why?
Maybe not top 3 but definitely one name – I’d absolutely love to work with Artificial Intelligence one day. I’d like to bring up with them some style they were into back in the days, well, maybe one day! 🙂
As you know we are always on the scout for new talent here at Different Drumz and we love to promote and support new artists, Please could you tell us 3 producers that you think people should look out for in the future that they may not have heard of before?
Definitely Hugh Hardie, HumaNature and Skeletone. Keep your eye on these three talented fellas and also good friends of mine. I’m really into their sound!
Have you had a good year so far & What have you got planned for the rest of 2016?
Yeah, I’ve played on Let It Roll 2016, the Metalheadz Label Night @ The Queens Head Pub (Redditch, UK) and Fokuz Recordings Night @ Cross Club (Prague, Czech Republic). That’s a very good question! I have 3 more releases forthcoming this year! The very special one is my next Offworld Recordings Angelic EP which will be out late autumn around October this year. Another two EP’s are Whistler EP for Fokuz Recordings and Cheeky Growler EP for Soul Trader Recordings, so be patient.
