SCAR is made up of Survival & Script :
SURVIVAL has a musical career spanning almost 20 years, originally as a studio engineer from 1993 and then under a number of aliases, the masterful drum & bass craftsman SURVIVAL has expertly shaped his personal sound. Building up a formidable back catalog, with regular releases on Dispatch, Symmetry, Critical, Exit, Shogun, DNAudio & Quarantine, Survival has also generated a spate of brilliant solo and collaborative releases with Silent Witness, Alix Perez & Octane & DLR for his own label, Audio Tactics
SCRIPT also has been involved in Drum and Bass since its formative years. Being around a close circle of friends who were already making waves in the scene, you would find him Djing at many events under different pseudonyms. SCRIPT has a back catalogue including releases with Dispatch, Critical, CIA, Mute8 & Footprints and has worked with the likes of Zero T, FD & Crystl.
Friends for many years with similar tastes in music, their paths began to cross regularly as both were releasing music on the same labels, so in 2013 they decided to collaborate on a tune. Born out of that first session was a piece of music called ‘When’ which was eagerly requested by Metalheadz to appear on the Platinum Breakz 4 album.
SCAR had arrived.
Since their first release on that seminal album SCAR have gone on to release regularly to high acclaim on Dispatch, Metalheadz, Integral & Horizons.
They regularly are booked at such nightclubs like Fabric and their DJ sets are in high demand. With their latest release of the ‘Caged EP’ on Metalheadz and the remix of Goldie’s Rufige Kru ‘Dark Rider’ just around the corner, plus their debut album on Metalheadz in the first half of 2016, SCAR and their an instantly recognisable production sound are most definitely ones to watch for the forseeable future.

Since the year 2000 the London based trio, The Invaderz have featured on some of the biggest labels in drum and bass. The Invaderz conisists of cousins Matt Lord and Leo Grant alongside longtime friend, Darrell. They got their breakthrough when they won a competition for unsigned artists on Fabio and Grooverider’s legendary BBC show. The group returned to drum and bass in 2014 with a release on Metalheadz Platinum Breaks LP and a solo LP on Klute’s label, Commercial Suicide
In 2016, Command Strange is one of Drum and Bass’ most exciting, unique artists. Now based in Russia, St Petersburg, the producer also known as Alexey Fuifanov, has found himself on some of the scene’s most important labels; from Metalheadz, Good Looking Recordings and Hospital – all the way to the mighty V Recordings where he is now signed exclusively. And the reason? Simply put, Command Strange is one of the most versatile producers we have today.
Whatever the label, Command Strange seems to produce banger after banger, fusing his classic jungle, jump-up and soul inspirations into a musical and original whole. Now 7 years deep into his craft, the Command Strange name has become a byword for guaranteed vibes and musicality.
So where did it begin? After trying his hand at jungle from the age of 7, it wasn’t long before a 16 year old Alexey had attracted the attention of the scene’s most influential tastemakers, with everyone from LTJ Bukem and DJ Marky to Friction, London Elektricity and JJ Frost giving the young producer the thumbs up.
Since then, Command Strange has gone from strength to strength – and that’s one of the reasons why he’s often in the studio with AI. The skillful partnership has proved to be like alchemy, with the guys releasing the huge vocal number ‘Won’t Say Goodbye’ featuring Mc Tali and solo single ‘Brand New Style’ featuring MC Fats on V Recordings – as well as the massive, rolling single with ‘Mad One’ and ‘Broken Grounds’ ft. Jamakabi on Goldie’s Metalheadz label.
In 2016, Command Strange signs to V Recordings, and it represents the ultimate fit for the Russian producer. Still one of the most respected labels in the game, V Recordings remains at the forefront of Drum & Bass, while staying true to its junglist beginnings – so it’s the perfect place for the all-encompassing style of Command Strange.
